NT Token Based ADFS with website on alternate port

We are working with a hosting company that has a MOSS application running for one of our partners.
We are trying to get ADFS working and have hit some snags. Our partner insists on using NT Token Based federation (the want the control afforded by creating shadow accounts in their domain). We can't seem to get based some combination of "access denied" pages.

In an effort to further the troubleshooting process, we've been working to reacreate their application environment. We've been able to successfully access a token-based sample app running on the default web site (over port 443). As soon as we try to create a second sample token app (running over SSL on a different port, things break down.
Is there a trick to getting NT token based ADFS working with a web app running on an alternate port (not 443)?

    Thanks, Martin

Are you perhaps running into the port numbers and cookies issue?
