hi

I am facing a problem while installing ADFS. It is asking for the file " Psync.mof on windows 2003 R2 is needed ". Can anyone help me how to proceed with installation now. where can i get this file downloaded and where it should be copied in my server.

I've installed a lot of the ADFS components now, and I haven't seen this.  I have been using the latest service packs though.  Try making sure you have the latest service packs.

I was using clean windows installs as well.

One of the Microsoft guys on here might be able to help.

If all else fails submit a message on the ADFS Support Blog and see if anyone can help.

Sorry, but I can't help with that either.  It sounds like there is a problem with your R2 install.  As Nate said, going to the support blog might be the best bet.

Thanks Nate and Joe. I have sorted out the problem by using lattest R2 installation. Now am facing another problem when installing ADFS can u please help me out with the same, the error is thrown in log file as

again, I haven't seen this at all before, and I have installed these components many times.

Are you installing this on a clean install of Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise?  Or is the server you are using one that was already running something else?

My guess is that you'll have to open a case with Microsoft on this one.  The installer is not something I know much about and I have no experience with it failing.

I am installing on Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise clean installation only. Can you please let me know the prerequisites and the proper procedure to install ADFS.

All I did was install a clean version of Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and then walked through the Windows Component install for the ADFS component I needed.  I've never seen any errors like this.

I would contact Microsoft about it.  Try new media, make sure it is up to date.

If you are still having this problem, try deleting c:\windows\adfs.msi and then try to add the component again.

First, delete the files and the folders:

c:\ADFS
c\windows\ADFS
c\windows\ADFS.msi
c\windows\ADFS.msp

Then, Reinstall, Create the new of all.

OK, the problem is fixed.
